Abstract

This Development Viewpoint draws on research on labour conditions in the construction sector in Shanghai conducted by the ESRC-DFID Research Project on 바카라 사이트淟abour Conditions and the Working Poor in China and India바카라 사이트�. This publication concentrates on the history of labour conditions in this sector. It draws primarily on the Working Paper 바카라 사이트楲abour Regimes in the Construction Sector in China바카라 사이트� written by Dae-oup Chang, Development Studies, SOAS, and on the results of worker surveys in Shanghai led by researchers at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Peking University, namely, Professors PUN Ngai and LIU Aiyi, and Dr. LU Huilin.
