Abstract

Women바카라 사이트檚 Empowerment or WE is a key term in the Gender and Development (GAD) theory. Owing to the multi-meanings of 바카라 사이트渆mpower바카라 사이트�, the term has produced different Chinese translations, of which, 바카라 사이트渁uthorizing women바카라 사이트� and 바카라 사이트減romoting women바카라 사이트檚 capacity바카라 사이트� are used most frequently. But both are misleading in a degree. The former has set women on an unequal position in discourse, while the latter may cover the fact that women have long been treated unfairly by the oppressive gender system in history. Judged by the various interpretations and definitions of 바카라 사이트渆mpower바카라 사이트�, it is more revealing to translate WE respectively into 바카라 사이트渟triving to realize women바카라 사이트檚 equal power바카라 사이트�, 바카라 사이트渞aising women바카라 사이트檚 awareness for equal power바카라 사이트� and 바카라 사이트減romoting women바카라 사이트檚 ability to realize equal power바카라 사이트�, as such comprehensive translations can better clarify the target, strategy and methods for realizing gender-equal development.
