TCM1000630 - How to identify if an overpayment has been transferred to Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)/Department for Communities (DfC) for collection

If a customer has migrated to Universal Credit (UC) with an outstanding tax credit debt, the amount will be transferred to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and collected through UC payments.  DWP will write to the customer directly.

Note: for customers in Northern Ireland, any outstanding tax credit debt will be transferred to the Department for Communities (DfC) and collected through UC payments. DfC will write to these customers directly. 

Step 1

  • select 바카라 사이트˜View Overpayment바카라 사이트™. You will be taken to the 바카라 사이트˜Key Entry Data바카라 사이트™ screen
  • enter the customer바카라 사이트™s NINO
  • select the 바카라 사이트˜All바카라 사이트™ checkbox
  • select 바카라 사이트˜OK바카라 사이트™

If you are taken to the 바카라 사이트˜View Overpayment바카라 사이트™ screen, go to Step 2.

If you are taken to the 바카라 사이트˜Select Individual바카라 사이트™ screen

  • select the relevant individual
  • select 바카라 사이트˜OK바카라 사이트™

If you are taken to the 바카라 사이트˜Select Award바카라 사이트™ screen

  • select the relevant award
  • select 바카라 사이트˜OK바카라 사이트™ 바카라 사이트“ this will take you to the 바카라 사이트˜View Overpayment바카라 사이트™ window
    then
  • go to Step 2.

Step 2

If the 바카라 사이트˜View Overpayment 바카라 사이트“ Signals바카라 사이트™ box displays

  • check if the 바카라 사이트˜App1 Debt transferred to DWP바카라 사이트™ or 바카라 사이트˜App 2 Debt transferred to DWP바카라 사이트™ tick box is marked 바카라 사이트“ this will indicate that any debt from any year has been transferred to Department for Work and Pensions(DWP)/Department for Communities (DfC)
  • select OK 바카라 사이트“ the 바카라 사이트˜View Overpayment 바카라 사이트“ Signals바카라 사이트™ box will clear and the 바카라 사이트˜View Overpayment바카라 사이트™ window will display, go to Step 3.

If the 바카라 사이트˜View Overpayment 바카라 사이트“ Signals바카라 사이트™ box does not display, go to Step 3.

Step 3

In the 바카라 사이트˜View Overpayments바카라 사이트™ screen

  • check if the 바카라 사이트˜Suspended Pending Transfer to DWP바카라 사이트™ in the 바카라 사이트˜Recovery Status바카라 사이트™ box is checked 바카라 사이트“ this indicates that the overpayment has been suspended and is waiting to be transferred to DWP/DfC.
  • go to Step 4.

Step 4

If there is more than one award

  • go back to Step 1 and select the next relevant award.

If there is not more than one award

  • return to the guidance you were following.
