Good afternoon, everyone 바카라 사이트撀爄t바카라 사이트檚 really fantastic to see so many people here, in London, welcome to London, I바카라 사이트檓 so pleased we have got so many representatives from so many places and in a sense we바카라 사이트檙e here today for one simple reason:
Because the world has changed.
From defence and national security on the one hand, much discussed in recent months바카라 사이트�
To the economy and trade바카라 사이트�
Old assumptions have fallen away.
We are living through an era of global instability바카라 사이트�
Which is felt by working people as an age of聽local聽insecurity.
Factory workers, builders, carers, nurses, teachers바카라 사이트β�
Working harder and harder for the pound in their pocket바카라 사이트�
But feeling at the same time that they have less control of聽their lives.

And energy security is right at the heart of this.
Every family and business across the UK바카라 사이트�
Has paid the price for Russia weaponizing energy. And it has.
But it바카라 사이트檚 not just that.

Let바카라 사이트檚 be frank.
When it comes to energy바카라 사이트�
We바카라 사이트檙e also paying the price for our over-exposure바카라 사이트�
Over many years바카라 사이트�
To the rollercoaster of international fossil fuel markets.
Leaving the economy 바카라 사이트� and therefore people바카라 사이트檚 household budgets바카라 사이트�
Vulnerable to the whims of dictators like Putin바카라 사이트�
To price spikes바카라 사이트�
And to volatility that is beyond our control.聽
Since the 1970s, half of the UK바카라 사이트檚 recessions have been caused by fossil fuel shocks.聽
That바카라 사이트檚 true for many of the other nations represented here this afternoon.
So聽what바카라 사이트檚 different today is not the聽information聽we have.
It바카라 사이트檚 not our聽awareness聽of the problem.
No.
What바카라 사이트檚 different now바카라 사이트β�
Is our determination바카라 사이트�
In a more uncertain world바카라 사이트�
To fix it.
It바카라 사이트檚 our determination that working people바카라 사이트�
Should not be exposed like this anymore.

So,聽to the British people, I say:
This government will not sit back바카라 사이트�
We will step up.
We will make energy a source바카라 사이트�
Not of vulnerability, but of strength.
We will protect our critical infrastructure, energy networks and supply chains바카라 사이트�
And do whatever it takes바카라 사이트�
To protect the security of our people.
Because this is the crucial point 바카라 사이트撀�
Energy security聽is聽national security바카라 사이트�
And it is therefore a fundamental duty of government.
And I바카라 사이트檓 very clear 바카라 사이트撀�
We can바카라 사이트檛 deliver that by defending the status quo바카라 사이트�
Or trying to turn the clock back바카라 사이트�
To a world that no longer exists.

Of course, fossil fuels will be part of our energy mix for decades to come.
But winning the fight for energy security depends on renewal 바카라 사이트�
It depends on change바카라 사이트�
It depends on cooperation with others.
And that바카라 사이트檚 why we바카라 사이트檙e all here today 바카라 사이트� so many countries, so many communities represented.

The IEA was founded in 1974,
In the midst of聽an energy crisis,
To help us work together to secure energy supplies바카라 사이트�
And reduce future energy shocks.
Well, that has taken on a new urgency today.聽
So聽our task is clear 바카라 사이트撀�
To act 바카라 사이트� together바카라 사이트β�
To seize the opportunity of the clean energy transition.聽
Because homegrown clean energy바카라 사이트�
Is the only way바카라 사이트�
To take back control of our energy system바카라 사이트β�
Deliver energy security바카라 사이트�
And bring down bills for the long term.

And I want to tell you 바카라 사이트撀犅�
That is in the DNA of my government.
When we came into office last year바카라 사이트β�
We knew there was no time to waste.
So聽in our first 100 days바카라 사이트�
We launched Great British Energy 바카라 사이트�
As a national champion to drive investment and transform clean power.
We scrapped the ban on onshore wind바카라 사이트�
And became the first G7 economy to phase out coal power.
While we won바카라 사이트檛 turn off the taps바카라 사이트�
We바카라 사이트檙e going all out 바카라 사이트撀犅�
Through our Plan for Change바카라 사이트�
To make Britain a clean energy superpower바카라 사이트β�
To secure home grown energy바카라 사이트�
And set a path to achieving clean power by 2030.

Now, I know, some in the UK don바카라 사이트檛 agree with that.
They think energy security can wait.
They think tackling climate change can wait.
But do they also think that billpayers can wait too?
Do they think economic growth can wait?
Do they think we can win the race for green jobs and investment by going slow?
That would serve no one.聽
Instead, this government is acting now바카라 사이트�
With a muscular industrial policy 바카라 사이트�
To seize these opportunities바카라 사이트�
To boost investment바카라 사이트�
Build new industries바카라 사이트�
Drive UK competitiveness바카라 사이트�
And unlock export opportunities 바카라 사이트�
In wind, nuclear, hydrogen, carbon capture, heat pumps and so much more.
That is the change we need.
We won바카라 사이트檛 wait 바카라 사이트撀�
We바카라 사이트檒l accelerate.

Because we바카라 사이트檙e already seeing the benefits.
The UK바카라 사이트檚 net zero sectors are growing three times faster than the economy as a whole.
They have attracted 拢43 billion of private investment since last July.聽
And now they support around 600,000 jobs聽across the UK.
That means more opportunities바카라 사이트�
And more money in people바카라 사이트檚 pockets.
And we바카라 사이트檙e going further.
We바카라 사이트檝e stripped out unnecessary red tape바카라 사이트�
To put Britain back in the global race for nuclear energy바카라 사이트�
And allow for Small Modular Reactors for the first time.
We바카라 사이트檙e speeding up planning for clean energy projects 바카라 사이트�
Including onshore wind바카라 사이트�
To power millions of homes and unlock further investment of 拢40 billion each year.

It바카라 사이트檚 really clear to me 바카라 사이트撀�
That investors want policy certainty.
They want ambition.
That is what we바카라 사이트檙e providing.
And now we are raising our ambition even further.
I am really pleased to announce today바카라 사이트�
That we바카라 사이트檙e creating a new Supply Chains Investment Fund 바카라 사이트�
As part of Great British Energy.
It will be backed by an initial 拢300 million of new funding바카라 사이트β�
For domestic offshore wind바카라 사이트�
Leveraging billions of new private investment바카라 사이트�
Supporting tens of thousands of jobs바카라 사이트�
And driving economic growth.
When companies are looking to invest in clean energy바카라 사이트�
When partners are looking to build new turbines, blades or cables바카라 사이트�
Our message is simple:
Build it in Britain.
I am determined to seize this opportunity 바카라 사이트�
To win our share of this trillion-dollar market바카라 사이트�
And secure the next generation of great jobs.
I바카라 사이트檝e met apprentices at the docks in Grimsby 바카라 사이트� fantastic individuals바카라 사이트�
I바카라 사이트檝e been to Holyhead in Wales바카라 사이트�
And the National Nuclear Laboratory in Preston바카라 사이트�
And I바카라 사이트檝e seen the brilliant clean power infrastructure that we are building in this country.
But more than that바카라 사이트�
I바카라 사이트檝e seen聽the pride that these jobs bring.
This is skilled, well-paid work바카라 사이트�
Meaningful work 바카라 사이트�
A chance to reignite our industrial heartlands바카라 사이트�
To rekindle the sense of community pride and purpose바카라 사이트�
That comes from being part of something that is bigger than yourself.
And so I바카라 사이트檓 pleased to tell you바카라 사이트�
That I can share some more good news this afternoon.
Earlier today, we finalised a deal with ENI.
It will see them award 拢2 billion in supply chain contracts바카라 사이트�
For the Hynet Carbon Capture and Storage project바카라 사이트�
Creating 2,000 jobs, across North Wales and the North West.
I want to thank all those here today who are part of this success story.
Because it is all built on stability, yes바카라 사이트�
But our ruthless focus on delivery바카라 사이트�
But it is also built on partnership.

Ursula 바카라 사이트� it is so good to have you with us this afternoon. Last time we were in this building, Ursula and I stood together with other colleagues here at Lancaster House, that was just last month, six weeks ago바카라 사이트�
Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with President Zelenskyy바카라 사이트�
Working together for European security.
Today we stand, again together with Fatih and others and the IEA바카라 사이트�
United behind European聽energy聽security.
Europe must never again be in a position where Russia thinks they can blackmail us on energy.
And until Russia comes to the table and agrees a full and unconditional ceasefire바카라 사이트�
We must continue to crack down on their energy revenues which are still fuelling Putin바카라 사이트檚 war chest.
This is the moment to act.聽
And it is the moment to build a partnership with the EU that meets the needs of our time 바카라 사이트�
Facing up to the global shocks of recent years바카라 사이트�
And working together to minimise the impact on hard-working people.
So we바카라 사이트檙e doing more with the EU to improve our interconnections바카라 사이트�
And make the most of our shared energy systems바카라 사이트�
As well as building on the fantastic partnerships that we already have바카라 사이트�
With countries like the Netherlands, Germany, Norway and so many others.
We have a common and important resource in the North Sea바카라 사이트�
Which can help us meet common challenges 바카라 사이트�
To me, this is just common sense.
So let바카라 사이트檚 seize this potential바카라 사이트�
To drive down bills바카라 사이트�
And drive up investment, growth and energy security.
I was elected with a mandate to deliver change.
So I make no apologies for pursuing every avenue바카라 사이트�
To deliver in the national interest and secure Britain바카라 사이트檚 future.
That is always my priority.聽
And of course this has to聽be a global effort as well.
We need to see a wider coalition바카라 사이트�
That unites the north and south바카라 사이트�
In a global drive for clean power.
That바카라 사이트檚 why I launched the Global Clean Power Alliance at the G20 last year바카라 사이트�
Working alongside the EU바카라 사이트檚 Global Energy Transitions Forum.
And that바카라 사이트檚 why we바카라 사이트檙e joining forces to take this forward.
We want to tackle the barriers and bottlenecks that are holding countries back.
So聽I am pleased to announce today바카라 사이트�
That, under the Global Clean Power Alliance바카라 사이트�
We are establishing a first-of-its-kind global initiative바카라 사이트�
To unblock and diversify clean energy supply chains.
We are harnessing the political leadership needed to make this happen.
Because, ultimately바카라 사이트�
That is what this is about:
Leadership.
In this moment of instability and uncertainty바카라 사이트�
Where we are buffeted by global forces바카라 사이트�
We are taking control.
We are working together with partners from around the world바카라 사이트�
With the IEA and all of you here today바카라 사이트�
To accelerate this vital global transition.
And in the UK바카라 사이트�
We are stepping up now바카라 사이트�
To make energy a source바카라 사이트�
Not of vulnerability, and worry바카라 사이트�
Which it is at the moment and it has been for so long바카라 사이트�
But a source of strength, of security聽and pride.
