44th Universal Periodic Review of human rights: UK statement on Germany

May I start by welcoming Commissioner Amtsberg and your delegation.听We appreciate Germany바카라 사이트檚 efforts since its last Universal Periodic Review (UPR), and the active role it has played as a member of this Council. We welcome the ratification of the Protocol to the International Labour Organization바카라 사이트檚 (ILO) Forced Labour Convention, and the ratification of the ILO바카라 사이트檚听Violence and Harassment Convention.听

We also commend Germany for the repeal of legislation that banned the advertisement of abortion services, allowing for information about the procedure to become more accessible.听听

We recommend Germany:听

1.听听听听Set voluntary targets to help increase the proportion of women in management positions in the German economy.听听

2.听听听 Ensure the effective implementation of the Protocol to the Forced Labour Convention.听
听

3.听听听Develop legislation to ensure the ratification of the Elimination of Violence and Harassment in the World of Work is implemented effectively.听听
