On 4 October 2023, the government announced an additional £8.55 billion of funding to be provided through City Region Sustainable Transport Settlements (CRSTS).
CRSTS2 indicative allocations for existing CRSTS city regions바카라 사이트¯
This funding is in addition to the £5.7 billion already allocated to mayoral combined authorities (MCAs) for years 2022/23 to 2026/27 (CRSTS1) and the £8.8 billion of total funding announced in the 2023 Spring Budget for 2027/28 to 2031/32 (CRSTS2).
CRSTS2 funding for existing바카라 사이트¯CRSTS바카라 사이트¯ city regions has been increased by a total of £5 billion to £13.8 billion. This additional funding has been divided between the following areas:
- £3.9 billion to be shared between the 6 northern바카라 사이트¯MCAs바카라 사이트¯
- over £1 billion to the West Midlands Combined Authority바카라 사이트¯Â
- £100 million to the West of England Combined Authority바카라 사이트¯
Indicative allocations to city regions for CRSTS2, which include this additional funding, are set out in the table below (with CRSTS1 allocations shown in brackets for comparison).
Final allocations (within a defined range of the indicative allocation), funding profiles and the split of capital and revenue funding will be confirmed in due course following engagement with city regions on their delivery plans. The Department for Transport will also discuss with city regions and HM Treasury whether a small proportion of CRSTS2 allocation may be brought forward into the final 2 years of CRSTS1 as part of ongoing work with MCAs on their current delivery plans. Indicative CRSTS2 allocations may therefore change.

*£57 million was deducted from the North East바카라 사이트™s nominal CRSTS allocation (£620 million) to take account of the additional Metropolitan Rail Grant capital payments in 2023/24 and 2024/25 as part of the North East Devolution Deal.
East Midlands Mayoral Combined County Authority
The government has also decided that the new East Midlands Mayoral Combined County Authority (EMMCCA), once established, should be eligible for CRSTS funding and has provided an indicative allocation of £1.5 billion. This is in addition to its baseline annual Highways Maintenance and Integrated Transport Block funding.
Final allocations (within a defined range of the indicative allocation), funding profiles and the split of capital and revenue funding will be confirmed in due course following engagement with EMMCCA on their delivery plans. Allocations may therefore change.
This overall CRSTS2 funding allocation for all eligible cities 바카라 사이트“ including EMMCCA 바카라 사이트“ is, therefore, increased to over £15 billion.
West Yorkshire Mass Transit바카라 사이트¯Â
The government has also committed to funding the continued development and delivery of the proposed West Yorkshire Mass Transit system. A further £2 billion of additional funding has been allocated to continue delivery of West Yorkshire Mass Transit in CRSTS3 and beyond.
