This guide gives you step by step help to run your payroll using  Basic PAYE Tools as an employer with fewer than 10 employees. Â
All Basic PAYE Tools user guides are updated only when there are major changes. They may not be updated yearly.
You must register with HMRC for PAYE Online as an employer before you use Basic PAYE Tools to run your payroll calculations and submissions.

HMRC no longer sends printed payment booklets (P30BC). You can still pay tax you owe from the tax year 6 April 2023 to 5 April 2024 at your bank or building society using a payment booklet, if you already have one. To pay tax for the current tax year, you must choose another way to pay.
