Brooks Newmark

Biography

Brooks Newmark was Minister for Civil Society from 15 July until 27 September 2014. He was elected as the Conservative MP for Braintree in May 2005.

Education

Brooks studied at Harvard College and Harvard Business School, and was also a Politics Research Graduate at Worcester College, Oxford.

Political career

Brooks has served as a member of the Science and Technology Committee (2005 to 2007) and the Treasury Select Committee (2006 to 2007).

He was the Treasury Whip from July 2007 to 2009 and was the Foreign Affairs Whip 2009 to 2010. In 2010 Brooks was appointed a Senior 바카라 사이트 Whip with responsibility for the Department for Business and the Wales Office and later was given responsibility for the Department for International Development and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister until September 2012. During this time, Brooks was a Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury.

At the end of 2012, Brooks was elected to the Treasury Select Committee.

Career outside politics

Brooks is also a Board Director at Harvard University (Harvard Alumni Association), Founder and Co-Chairman of the Party바카라 사이트™s Women2Win campaign, Chairman of the United and Cecil Club, and Founder of the Million Jobs Campaign. He is a co-founder and director in the education charity A Partner in Education and is involved in several other charities, including Get Kids Going! PARC and Farleigh Hospice.

Brooks was a Senior Partner of Apollo Management LP, an international private equity firm.

Personal life

Brooks is a keen Newcastle United supporter and enjoys skiing and long-distance running.
