Aidan Liddle

Biography

Aidan Liddle, UK Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva. He was appointed Ambassador and UK Permanent Representative to the Conference on Disarmament in July 2018.

He joined the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in 2003 (now the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office). During the course of his career he has served as Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Stockholm; Deputy Head of the EU Internal Department, Head of the Southern Africa Section and Private Secretary to the Permanent Under Secretary in London; Head of Press and Public Affairs at the British High Commission in Islamabad; and attaché for consumer affairs at the UK바카라 사이트s Mission to the EU in Brussels, during the UK바카라 사이트s Presidency of the EU in 2005.

Before joining the FCO Aidan worked for the UK 바카라 사이트바카라 사이트s inward investment agency as desk officer for the Nordics.

Mr Liddle was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and studied at Bristol Cathedral School, as a choral scholar, and Hertford College, University of Oxford, graduating with an MA in Classics. He is married to Helen, a musician and teacher; they have 2 daughters.

On his appointment as Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, Mr Liddle said:
