Abstract

This paper discusses the statistics, determinants and responses to poverty 바카라 사이트“ especially chronic poverty 바카라 사이트“ in the Philippines. The diverse issues covered include economic conditions (periodic recessions) and the need for a national development strategy, income and asset distribution, weaknesses in the government바카라 사이트™s anti-poverty programs as well as social and subsidy programs, the lack of a cohesive social contract conducive to poverty eradication, and social conflicts and war in some regions with extreme chronic poverty.
