Temporary storage where waste is produced (NWFD 2 exemption)

You can temporarily store any waste at the place of production before it바카라 사이트™s collected. You do not need to register this exemption.

About this exemption

Some waste exemptions do not need to be registered. They are called non-waste framework directive (NWFD) exemptions. NWFD exemptions relate to gathering waste and storing it temporarily.

You must comply with the terms and conditions.

You do not pay for this exemption.

Activities you can carry out

Storage

You can store any type of waste for up to 12 months, if all the following conditions apply:

  • you produced the waste yourself
  • you are storing it at the place you produced it
  • the waste is stored securely

바카라 사이트˜Stored securely바카라 사이트™ means that the waste cannot escape from its container and the public cannot access it.

Treatments

You can carry out some treatments on the waste to make storage and collection easier.

The treatments must not change the characteristics of the waste.

Examples of such treatments are:

  • compacting paper and cardboard, to increase the amount that can be stored in a container
  • shredding papers
  • separating recyclables such as card, plastic and glass into separate containers

Activities you cannot carry out

You cannot:

  • store waste that was produced somewhere else
  • store waste for longer than 12 months
