Check your eVisa is correct before you travel

How to check your eVisa details are correct before you travel in or out of the UK.

Before you travel, you should check your eVisa has all the correct details. If there바카라 사이트檚 an issue with your eVisa,聽there are steps you can take to try to resolve it.聽

Sign in to your聽UKVI聽account聽to check that your eVisa is linked to your current passport or travel document.

You바카라 사이트檒l still need to carry your current passport or travel document with you.聽聽

You should also聽get a share code to prove your immigration status聽before you travel. Your carrier may ask to see it. A share code is valid for 90 days.

From 2 June 2025 expired biometric residence permits (BRPs) and biometric residence cards (BRCs) can no longer be used to travel to the UK. You will need an eVisa to demonstrate your permission to travel to the UK.

Before travelling internationally you should:

  • set up access to your eVisa by creating a聽UKVI聽account, if you have not done it already
  • make sure your current travel document is linked to your聽UKVI聽account

If you바카라 사이트檙e travelling out of the UK

If you바카라 사이트檙e outside the UK and have permission to travel to the UK, you바카라 사이트檒l need to check the information in your聽UKVI聽account is correct before you travel.

You can do this by:

You should make sure the passenger information you provide to the carrier matches the details in your UKVI account, including the travel document you will use for travel.

If you have a Home Office issued travel document (HOTD)

You must carry your HOTD with you when travelling. It is not currently possible to add your HOTD to your UKVI account.

If you have dual nationality

If you have dual nationality and neither of those nationalities is British or Irish, you바카라 사이트檒l need to add the passport you바카라 사이트檒l use to travel to your account. If you have a passport for both nationalities, you can add both to your account.聽聽

For British or Irish citizens who hold dual nationality, or those with the right of abode, you바카라 사이트檒l need to show your carrier (for example airline, rail company, or other transport provider) either:聽

  • your British or Irish passport聽
  • another passport containing a certificate of entitlement to the right of abode

If you바카라 사이트檙e outside the UK and have permission to travel to the UK, you바카라 사이트檒l need to check the information in your UKVI account is correct before you travel.

You can do this by:

It바카라 사이트檚 your responsibility to check the entry, exit and transit requirements of other countries, and you may be asked to show evidence of your UK immigration status to authorities there.聽聽

You should check what they will require, but they may consider accepting evidence such as:

  • a share code from the view and prove service
  • viewing a screen from your UKVI account聽
  • a physical document confirming UK status or permission
  • a copy of a letter or email you received from the Home Office when your UK immigration status was granted

You will need a stable internet connection to get your share code. You can generate a share code up to 90 days in advance.

If you can, print a copy of your share code or other evidence before you travel.

If you cannot access your eVisa聽

If you바카라 사이트檙e outside the UK and cannot access your eVisa, check that you바카라 사이트檝e completed the 3 steps required:

  • create a聽UKVI聽account
  • confirm your identity
  • link your account to your eVisa

If you바카라 사이트檙e unable to recover your account but have a valid physical document that shows you have permission to travel, you can show that to the carrier.聽

If you바카라 사이트檙e unable to recover your account and have no other evidence of your permission to travel, you should consider which lets you re-enter the UK once only.

Adding a different passport to your UKVI account

If you바카라 사이트檙e outside the UK and need to add a different passport to your UKVI account, how you do this depends on whether your personal details have changed.

Personal details include:

  • name
  • nationality
  • date of birth
  • sex

If none of your personal details have changed, you can add a new or different passport to your UKVI account using the update your UKVI account details service.聽

If your personal details have changed, you won바카라 사이트檛 be able to use the update your UKVI account details service to add your new passport from outside the UK. This means you may experience delays or complications with your travel back to the UK if you use your new passport for travel.

You should consider which lets you re-enter the UK once only.聽

Once you바카라 사이트檙e inside the UK, you바카라 사이트檒l be able to use the update your UKVI account details service to add your new passport to your UKVI account and update your personal details.聽聽

If you바카라 사이트檙e travelling to the UK and you don바카라 사이트檛 have an eVisa聽

If you바카라 사이트檙e outside the UK, see if you can get access to your eVisa before you travel.

You will need:

  • access to a smartphone聽
  • a mobile phone number聽
  • an email address바카라 사이트�
  • your BRP card or a valid passport with your BRP number or visa application number

If you cannot access your eVisa

You바카라 사이트檒l need to confirm you have permission to enter and stay in the UK by showing your carrier your valid passport.

If you have one, you must also show your carrier your valid, physical proof of your permission to enter and stay in the UK. For example:

  • passport endorsements, such as indefinite leave to enter wet ink stamps
  • vignette stickers in passports, such as entry clearance or visa vignettes

Otherwise, you may experience delays or complications with your travel back to the UK.

If you cannot access your eVisa and have no other evidence of your permission, you should consider which lets you re-enter the UK once only.聽

Once you바카라 사이트檙e inside the UK, you바카라 사이트檒l be able to get access to your eVisa and view your immigration status.
