The National Chargepoint Registry (NCR) was decommissioned on 28 November 2024. All public EV chargepoint operators are now required to share open data free of charge on elements such as location, real-time availability, connector types, and payment methods. The archived NCR data will be available on request to users and researchers. For any enquiries contact consumerofferconsult@ozev.gov.uk.

The NCR was a database of publicly available chargepoints for electric vehicles in the UK established in 2011. While the database was freely open to all who wish to use it, the main data users are business data users for their products (such as smartphone apps, satellite navigation and route planning).

Accessing data on NCR

The dataset was available in CSV, JSON or XML formats as a download using the links below or by using an API. No registration or login was required.
