  1. An error was discovered in the data, which meant that a number of values were duplicated across several categories. This has been corrected. The total amount paid out under all schemes in 2024 has increased from £1.1 billion to £1.2 billion. The amount paid out under Countryside Stewardship in 2024 has increased from £500 million to £665 million. There have been small changes to all Countryside Stewardship numbers in the table "Payments made under Countryside Stewardship and SFI, 2022-2024". Numbers and percentages reported in the text have also changed. The list of the top 10 actions with the highest total payments in 2024 has changed- the list previously consisted of SAM3, AHL2, FG2, NUM3, RP15, MPA1, IPM4, BN11, RP28 and LIG1. It now includes: SAM3, AHL2, NUM3, FG2, GS2, MPA1, AB9, IPM4, AB8 and AB15.

  2. The dataset has been updated due to the discovery of an error in the code used to generate the previous dataset. This has affected many of the numbers in the dataset and the accompanying write-up. This error mainly affected Countryside Stewardship numbers- the figures for the Sustainable Farming Incentive have only been revised slightly. Headline figures that have been revised include the total amount paid out for SFI and CS in 2024, which has changed from £1.2 billion to £1.1 billion, and the total amount paid out under CS in 2024 which has changed from £665 million to £500 million. The top 10 actions with the highest amount paid out has also changed, although the top action (SAM3) and its payment amount (£132 million) has not changed.
