The Home Secretary has written to Professor Bell, the Chair of the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC), to commission 2 reviews.

These are:

• a review of salary requirements for work visas
• a review of the new temporary shortage list (TSL)

For the salaries review, the MAC is asked to report within 6 months.

For the TSL review, the MAC is asked to report on the first stage within 6 months and on the second stage within 12 months.
