From 1 September 2025, the early career teacher entitlement (ECTE) replaces the early career framework (ECF) based training, induction and mentoring.

Grant funding for year 2 time off timetable and mentor support

ECF, and from 1 September 2025 ECTE, based induction year 2 time off timetable grant funding is paid for most ECTs after the end of the second academic year an ECT completes induction and covers 1 total payment amount.

This funding covers the cost of giving each ECT in the second year of induction:

  • 5% time off timetable for induction activities including바카라 사이트ECF based training and mentor sessions
  • a dedicated mentor, based on 20 hours of mentor support in the second year of induction

Grant funding is linked to the ECT induction and paid to the school that has registered the ECT as undergoing their training at that school in their second year of induction. The funding element for the mentor support is paid as part for the total payable funding amount.

Payment schedule and conditions of grant

This funding will be paid as a grant, and in arrears, after the end of the second academic year to eligible settings as set out in the conditions of grant.

The conditions of grant for ECTs who begin induction on or after the September 2025 cohort, the applicable conditions of grant will be published before the 2025 to 2026 academic year starts.

For ECTs who began induction with the September 2021 cohort and prior to the September 2025 cohort, the academic years 2022 to 2023 and 2024 to 2025 conditions of grant are applicable.

Payments will be made to local authorities for maintained schools and directly to academies and other eligible institutions in accordance with the schedule below. Local authorities will receive a payment remittance which will include a school allocation list for the maintained schools relevant to them. Grant funding allocations will be published each year prior to payments being made. Any corrective payments will be made in accordance with the payment schedule as well.
