Early outcomes fund: grants for local authorities
Funding for local authorities to work together in partnership to improve early language outcomes for 0 to 5 year olds through high quality local services.

Details
The fund is worth approx. £6.5m. The funding is for the financial years 2018 to 2019 and 2019 to 2020.
The fund aims to achieve three key things:
- to increase leadership focus at local authority level on the key issue of early language
- to enable local authorities to undertake work to improve their services and how they are delivered
- to resource evaluation and partnership working amongst local authorities that will spread innovations around the wider system
We are seeking bids from partnerships of 3 or 4 local authorities (with 1 authority in the lead) in the region of £500k-£1.5m. We will also accept bids from single authorities. The application process is open. It will close on 18 January 2019.
