Details

Part 6 of the bill will:

  • introduce a new statutory code of practice on direct marketing, enabling the Information Commissioner to take more effective action against nuisance calls. This code will mean that the Information Commissioner바카라 사이트™s fines will be easier to enforce if marketeers have not sought the consent of consumers
  • allow Ofcom to retain money raised through spectrum management to pay for its non-fee paying activities such as tackling silent calls
  • put in place a robust process for appeals against Ofcom decisions
  • create a new power for the Northern Ireland Executive to appoint a member to the Ofcom board to give parity with Scotland and Wales
  • extend Ofcom바카라 사이트™s powers to regulate the activities of the BBC to enable it to fulfill the role to be set out in the new Royal Charter
