The British Embassy Kinshasa (BEK) is now accepting project proposals for the 2018/2019 financial year (April 2018-March 2019).

This year BEK is seeking to implement a project in the Central African Republic (CAR) that focuses on the following thematic areas:

바카라 사이트¢ International Humanitarian Law: Building capacity of the FACA and the police by promoting compliance with IHL.

바카라 사이트¢ Preventing Sexual Violence: The UK바카라 사이트™s Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative (PSVI) aims to address the culture of impunity, ensure more perpetrators are brought to justice and provide better support for survivors. To do this, we are supporting the International Protocol on the Documentation and Investigation of Sexual Violence in Conflict, campaigning to raise awareness, rallying global action, promoting international coherence and increasing the political will and capacity of states to do more.

We are particularly interested in project proposals aiming towards the following outcomes:

  1. Measurable increased awareness of the international rules governing protection of the victims of armed conflict and the conduct of military operations, including rules relating to the prevention of sexual violence in conflict.

  2. Measurable outcomes of improvement of the behaviour of the armed forces and the police, including in relation to preventing sexual violence.

Bid Guidance:

바카라 사이트¢ Projects are funded for a single financial year running from 1st April 2018 to 31st March 2019, with no expectation of continued funding beyond this period.

바카라 사이트¢ Maximum budget limit: $77,000

바카라 사이트¢ Projects should plan to run from June/July 2018 and to spend at least 90% by the end of November 2018, with 100% spend by the end of February 2019.

Bids and implementing partners will be assessed against the following criteria:

바카라 사이트¢ The supplier being embedded in the EU Training Mission in Central African Republic 바카라 사이트“ evidence should be submitted to show how bids plan to achieve this.

바카라 사이트¢ A strong track record of successful project delivery in CAR. Ability to draw on previous lessons learned to mitigate against unintended consequences of interventions.

바카라 사이트¢ Outcomes are achievable within the funding period.

바카라 사이트¢ Project design includes clear monitoring and evaluation procedures.

바카라 사이트¢ Sustainability plan, demonstrating that project benefits continue after the funding ends.

바카라 사이트¢ Risk and financial accountability procedures.

바카라 사이트¢ The organisation바카라 사이트™s safeguarding policies that ensure protection of beneficiaries.

Applications should also note that:

바카라 사이트¢ We require monitoring reports throughout the project, including financial reports. At the end of a project, we require a completion report, including a detailed financial report.

바카라 사이트¢ Duty of care for all staff and participants in project activities shall lie with the project implementer.

바카라 사이트¢ Payments are normally made quarterly. Payments are made after the completion of project activities. Advance payments are not usually possible.

바카라 사이트¢ Bids should include active consideration of gender inequality. This includes by ensuring that where possible women are offered places in project activities, and included in training and consultative panels.

바카라 사이트¢ Bids should also ensure that the services are designed and implemented in a manner that respects international human rights norms and is designed and implemented in accordance with the 바카라 사이트˜do no harm바카라 사이트™ principle.

Process:

  1. Project proposals must be received by 23:59 GMT on Monday 21st May. Late proposals will not be considered.

  2. Proposals must be submitted using the attached forms only (Project Proposal and Activity Based Budget). Please note the figures in the Activity Based Budget are for demonstration purposes only. You should replace these with your own activity-based budget plan.
