This report presents the findings of an investigation by Her Majesty바카라 사이트™s Inspectorate of Constabulary Scotland (HMIC). HMIC investigated the extent that crime data recorded by the BTP (Scotland Division) can be trusted.
The HMIC바카라 사이트™s audit tested the accuracy of crime recording, through:
- an examination of incident and crime records
- the quantitative measuring of compliance with crime recording practice in Scotland

HMIC has statutory responsibility for the inspection of the police forces of England and Wales 바카라 사이트” including the British Transport Police (BTP). Following the inspection, HMIC must report on its findings. states that where a report it received by the Secretary of State for Transport will then publish it.
DfT sponsors the British Transport Police Authority (BTPA) which is the non-departmental public body responsible for overseeing BTP. BTPA monitors BTP바카라 사이트™s operations, sets its targets and allocates funds for its budget. BTPA and BTP are responsible for taking forward any actions from this report.
