Sir Ian Bauckham CBE

Biography

Sir Ian took over the role of Chief Regulator in January 2024.聽 Before that, he had served as Chair of the Board of Ofqual from January 2021 and had been a Board member from March 2018. Before becoming Chief Regulator, Sir Ian led a multi-academy trust.聽

Sir Ian is Chair of Oak National Academy, an arm바카라 사이트檚 length body of the DfE.

Education

Sir Ian has an MA in Modern and Medieval Languages from the University of Cambridge, and Masters degrees in Education and Philosophy.

Chief Regulator, Ofqual

The Chief Regulator answers to Parliament and also serves as the Chief Executive and Accounting Officer. It바카라 사이트檚 their role to make sure that the organisation carries out the board바카라 사이트檚 strategy, and that Ofqual has the resources and structure it needs to do its work effectively. As Accounting Officer to Ofqual, the Chief Regulator is accountable for Ofqual바카라 사이트檚 deployment of public funds.
