Change of Her Majesty바카라 사이트™s Ambassador to Sweden
David Cairns has been appointed Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden.
Mr David Cairns has been appointed Her Majesty바카라 사이트™s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden in succession to Mr Paul Johnston, who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment. Mr Cairns will take up his appointment during August 2015.
Mr Cairns joined the FCO in 1993 and has served in Japan and Geneva. Most recently he was the FCO바카라 사이트™s Director for Estates and Security. As well as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden he will be the FCO바카라 사이트™s Director for the Nordic Baltic region. He lives in Cambridge with his wife and two children.
On his appointment as Her Majesty바카라 사이트™s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden, Mr Cairns said:
I am honoured and delighted to be appointed as British Ambassador to Sweden and as the FCO바카라 사이트™s Nordic Baltic Director. Sweden, and the Nordic Baltic region, are hugely important to the United Kingdom. I am looking forward to working with close friends and allies.
