Change of British High Commissioner to Jamaica
Mr David Fitton CMG has been appointed British High Commissioner to Jamaica.

David Fitton
He will succeed Mr Howard Drake, who has transferred to another Diplomatic Service appointment. Mr Fitton will take up his appointment during June 2013.
Mr Fitton joined the FCO in 1980 and was, until recently, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Tokyo. His FCO career has included a variety of roles in the UK and overseas, including several postings in Japan, India and Turkey, and work on African, Asian, EU and consular affairs in London.
On his appointment as British High Commissioner to Jamaica, Mr Fitton has said:
I am delighted to be going to Jamaica as High Commissioner. It is a great privilege to work with a Commonwealth partner with whom we have such important relations. Relations between Jamaica and the UK are extremely close and constructive. I look forward to helping strengthen them further in my new role.
