Awel y Môr Offshore Wind Farm development consent decision announced

Today,바카라 사이트¯20 September 2023, the Awel y Môr Offshore Wind Farm application has been granted development consent by the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero.바카라 사이트¯

Awel y Môr is an offshore wind farm, to generate in excess of 500MW. The project will be comprised of (but not limited to): an offshore wind farm, including wind turbine generators and associated foundations, wind measurement equipment and array cables; transmission infrastructure, including offshore substations and associated foundations, offshore and onshore export cables (underground), including associated transition bays and jointing bays, an onshore substation, and connection infrastructure into the National Grid.

The application was submitted to the Planning Inspectorate for consideration by Awel y Môr Offshore Wind Farm Limited on 20 April 2022 and accepted for Examination on 18 May 2022.

Following an Examination during which the public,바카라 사이트¯Statutory바카라 사이트¯Consultees and바카라 사이트¯Interested바카라 사이트¯Parties were given the opportunity to give evidence to the Examining Authority, recommendations were made to the Secretary of State on 20 June 2023

This is the바카라 사이트¯127th Nationally바카라 사이트¯Significant Infrastructure바카라 사이트¯Project and 74th energy application to have been examined바카라 사이트¯by The Planning Inspectorate바카라 사이트¯within the timescales laid down in the Planning Act 2008.

The Planning Inspectorate바카라 사이트™s Chief Executive, Paul Morrison said:

The Planning Inspectorate has now examined more than 100바카라 사이트¯nationally significant infrastructure projects since the Planning Act 2008 process was introduced, ensuring바카라 사이트¯local communities바카라 사이트¯have had the바카라 사이트¯opportunity of being involved in the examination of projects that may affect them.

Local communities continue to be given the opportunity of being involved in the examination of projects that may affect them. Local people, the local authority and other Interested Parties were able to participate in this six-month Examination.

The Examining Authority listened and gave full consideration to all local views바카라 사이트¯and the evidence gathered during the Examination바카라 사이트¯before making its recommendation to the Secretary of State.

The decision, the recommendation made by the Examining Authority to the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero and the evidence considered by the Examining Authority in reaching its recommendation are publicly available on the바카라 사이트¯project pages of the National Infrastructure Planning website.
