Major projects at Sellafield
Sellafield Ltd was a finalist in 3 categories at the prestigious Association for Project Management Awards (APM) in London this week.
These global awards celebrate project organisations, individuals and projects from across a broad range of sectors and their incredible achievements over the past year.
The finalist categories were:
- Special Nuclear Material Containment Wall Project - Engineering, Construction and Infrastructure Project of the Year category
- Charlotte Brew, sub project manager - Young Project Professional of the Year category
- The Programme and Project Partners - APM Sustainability category
Reece Carlisle, from the Sellafield Ltd containment wall project, said:
It was great to receive recognition for our project, that바카라 사이트™s involved providing a robust containment and in-bleed ventilation system in a complex and challenging area to enable the safe and secure remediation of legacy inventories in a high-hazard facility.
Meanwhile Charlotte Brew, one of our sub project managers who was shortlisted in the 바카라 사이트˜Young Project Professional of the Year바카라 사이트™ category said:
It was a great honour to be shortlisted for my work, leading the first ever active deployment of a quadruped robot in a radiological area.
This has supported the clean-up mission, improved safety and efficiency for both nuclear operators and the wider workforce as well as accelerating high hazard reduction.
It was an exciting project to be a part of and I바카라 사이트™m very thankful for all of the support I received.
Finally, The Programme and Project Partners (PPP) was highlighted in the APM Sustainability category.
PPP is delivering up to £7 billion of critical national infrastructure using a 20-year partnership and adopting sustainability with a specific strategic deliverable to 바카라 사이트˜achieve long term business resilience and success whilst contributing positively to the economy, society and the environment바카라 사이트™.
PPP is embedding sustainability principles into all of its projects.
