The College of Experts at the Department for Transport (DfT) works to:Â
- increase the department바카라 사이트™s access to scientific networks
- develop and maintain relationships with expertsÂ
- broaden DfT바카라 사이트™s evidence baseÂ
- identify important areas of research interest Â
- support the provision of scientific adviceÂ
Members of the college were selected to provide expertise throughout all policy work across the department and give external expertise to transport sectors.
Specific activities of the college include:Â Â
- participating in working groups based on specific themes that feed into the department바카라 사이트™s areas of research interestÂ
- providing ad hoc advice and support to policy and analytical colleaguesÂ
- supporting DfT바카라 사이트™s Chief Scientific Adviser team by offering expert/scientific networks that can help guide and shape policy
The college is made up of 45 external experts from across academia and industry and is managed by the DFT Chief Scientific Adviser team. This team is led by the Chief Scientific Adviser for DFT, Professor Sarah Sharples.
