CCUS Council
The purpose of the CCUS Council is to review progress and provide oversight on the implementation of the CCUS programme and approach to cluster deployment.
Role of the Group
The purpose of the CCUS Council is to review progress and support the government바카라 사이트檚 ambition to deploy CCUS from the mid-2020s and at scale during the 2030s. This is essential to the UK achieving its commitment to net zero by 2050.
The council will be the primary forum for Department for Energy Security and Net Zero ministerial engagement with representatives from the CCUS sector, aiming to increase industry confidence in the rollout of the CCUS programme.
The council will:
- monitor development of CCUS business models and deployment pathway, ensuring alignment with the Net Zero Strategy
- review the work of the聽CCUS聽Supply Chain working group and support development of technologies
- provide guidance to members to improve public engagement on CCUS and encourage diversity and inclusion in the sector
The CCUS Council replaces the CCS Development Forum.
Membership
The聽CCUS聽Council is co-chaired by the Minister of State for Industry, and Olivia Powis, CEO of the Carbon Capture and Storage Association.
Members are appointed to provide advice on a wide range of issues impacting on the development and deployment of聽CCUS.
