Over 拢17 million to regenerate Leek Town Centre (Levelling Up Fund 2)

Levelling Up funding has been allocated to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council to regenerate Leek Town Centre.

The funding will support three projects that support the Council바카라 사이트檚 vision to revive the local economy and make it a better place for residents, communities and businesses.聽

Upgraded market halls聽

The towns Victorian market halls will be refurbished for business and community use.

聽聽

The improvements include:聽

• installation of 3 food and beverage lock-up units in the Trestle Market Hall聽
• restoring the Victorian character of shop frontages in the Butter Market Hall聽
• installation of Wi-Fi, CCTV, insulation and heating聽
• a new separate entrance into the markets聽
• replacing 32 tables with lighter weight alternatives聽

Nicholson Institute聽

Levelling Up funding will also improve the public library, museum and exhibition space at the historic Nicholson Institute. This includes:聽

• refurbishing the lower ground floor into a flexible student welfare facility聽
• renovating the basement to provide operational space for the library聽
• a new venue for events and weddings聽
• increased services in the library聽
• refurbishing the museum聽聽

Transforming Brough Park Leisure Centre聽

Funding will also be used to create new swimming facilities as part of the wider leisure centre transformation.聽聽

Improvements include:聽

• building a new 25 metre 6 lane swimming pool聽聽
• a new learner pool with moveable floor and refurbished changing rooms聽聽
• a new health and fitness suite聽
• additional studio space to accommodate group exercises聽
• an indoor cycling studio聽
• additional changing facilities聽
