Hereford City to receive £19.9 million transport investment (Levelling Up Fund 2)
Hereford has been provisionally allocated almost £20 million from the Levelling Up Fund for three transport projects.
Hereford Transport HubÂ
Levelling Up funding will support the creation of a new transport hub at Hereford Railway Station. The area in front of the Victorian Station will be redesigned as a new bus terminal and public forecourt. It will provide an easy to use and reliable link to all public transport including:Â Â
- a cycle storage area and repair stationÂ
- taxi and car parking areasÂ
- bus stands and layoversÂ
- welfare facilitiesÂ
The hub will act as a new gateway to the city centre.Â
Active Travel Â
Funding will also support projects to promote active travel both North and South of the River Wye. North of the River Wye, a new cycle scheme will be implemented along the A465 linking to the Transport Hub, the City Centre and South of the river. Â
Funding will also be used to:Â Â
- improve bus routes along Blueschool Street and Newmarket StreetÂ
- improve the off-road walking and cycle path on Great Western WayÂ
- enhance the one-way cycle scheme on St Owens Street providing better access to the town centreÂ
South of the River Wye, funding will be used to:Â
- introduce new 바카라 사이트˜Quiet Routes바카라 사이트™ to the Hereford Enterprise Zone to encourage more people to cycle or walk in the areaÂ
- improve the Holme Lacy CyclewayÂ
