Hereford City to receive 拢19.9 million transport investment (Levelling Up Fund 2)
Hereford has been provisionally allocated almost 拢20 million from the Levelling Up Fund for three transport projects.
Hereford Transport Hub聽
Levelling Up funding will support the creation of a new transport hub at Hereford Railway Station. The area in front of the Victorian Station will be redesigned as a new bus terminal and public forecourt. It will provide an easy to use and reliable link to all public transport including:聽聽
- a cycle storage area and repair station聽
- taxi and car parking areas聽
- bus stands and layovers聽
- welfare facilities聽
The hub will act as a new gateway to the city centre.聽
Active Travel聽聽
Funding will also support projects to promote active travel both North and South of the River Wye. North of the River Wye, a new cycle scheme will be implemented along the A465 linking to the Transport Hub, the City Centre and South of the river.聽聽
Funding will also be used to:聽聽
- improve bus routes along Blueschool Street and Newmarket Street聽
- improve the off-road walking and cycle path on Great Western Way聽
- enhance the one-way cycle scheme on St Owens Street providing better access to the town centre聽
South of the River Wye, funding will be used to:聽
- introduce new 바카라 사이트楺uiet Routes바카라 사이트� to the Hereford Enterprise Zone to encourage more people to cycle or walk in the area聽
- improve the Holme Lacy Cycleway聽
