Bringing pets to Great Britain
If you바카라 사이트™re travelling from an EU country
You must write a statement (called a 바카라 사이트˜declaration바카라 사이트™) to say that your pet:
- is not for sale or transfer of ownership
- is healthy and able to complete the journeyÂ
- was born and bred in captivityÂ
Sign a physical copy of the declaration and bring it with you when you travel with your pet.
There are different rules if you바카라 사이트™re bringing a pet dog, cat or a ferret to Great Britain.
There may be additional rules depending on the type of pet you바카라 사이트™re bringing.
Birds
You can bring birds as pets to Great Britain as long as they바카라 사이트™re not being used for:
- breeding
- meat or egg production
- shooting or hunting
The birds must come from a country that바카라 사이트™s a member of the .
You바카라 사이트™ll need a birds health certificate that바카라 사이트™s been issued in the country you바카라 사이트™re travelling from.

Import checks
You must tell the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) that you바카라 사이트™re planning to bring a pet bird to Great Britain at least one day before you travel.
APHA will arrange for your pet to be checked when it enters the country.

The bird must wear a clip, leg band, microchip or tag to show where they바카라 사이트™re travelling from.
Salamanders
You바카라 사이트™ll need an animal health certificate that바카라 사이트™s been issued in the country you바카라 사이트™re travelling from.
Check the rules of the country you바카라 사이트™re travelling from to find out how to get a certificate. A local vet might be able to help with this.
Bring the health certificate with you when you travel with your pet.
You바카라 사이트™ll also need to follow extra rules, for example:
- you can only travel from certain countries
- your pet must be put into quarantine for at least 6 weeks
